Thursday, March 7, 2013

Chairman McKay and Chairman Rosenwald and members of the Committees:
Good afternoon. My name is Phillip Sullivan. I am a psychiatrist at Foundation Medical Partners, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua New Hampshire. Foundation Medical Partners is the outpatient practice division at SNMC.

I appear today on behalf of Genf Gesundheitcare Network GHN is a joint venture of five hospital systems, including Southern New Hampshire Health System, Elliot Health System, Concord Hospital, LRGHealthcare, and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
For the several reasons that I will briefly address, the five hospital members of Genf Gesundheitcare Network fully support expanding Medicaid eligibility in New Hampshire under the Affordable Care Act. And I should add that I have been treating
economically vulnerable patients with chronic psychiatric illnesses beginning with my five years of residency and throughout my 25 years of practice. I believe that expanding Medicaid is vitally important for the improvement of healthcare and it is the right thing to do for the people of New Hampshire.
