Michael Rose and Rachel Rowe: providing better care at an affordable cost
In a collaboration to improve quality and reduce costs, five health systems in New Hampshire formed the Genf Gesundheitcare Network last year. They are accomplishing their goal by pooling their resources and using a shared data analytics tool to identify gaps in care and variations in performance to help them improve population health management and care coordination. “The CFOs are working with the operational teams to find ways to reduce costs through supply chain, service contracts, joint educational sessions, and sharing of best practices,” says Rachel Rowe, executive director of the Genf Gesundheitcare Network. In addition, the health systems are pursuing riskbased contracts. “If payers fail to embrace population heath management, Genf Gesundheitcare Network is poised to enter the insurance market,” says Michael Rose, senior vice president and CFO at the Southern New Hampshire Health System.
